The Valley City Community Group (VCCG) is a non-profit organization whose primary focus is to enhance the quality of life in Valley City through partnerships with business, family and individuals through historic preservation and economic development

There is no membership and anyone can come to meetings and/or help out in one of our fund raisers or projects.

We are responsible for

• Annual Frog Jump
• Movie in the Park
• Christmas in the Valley
• Independence Day fireworks and entertainment at night
• decorate the town for the Holidays

We make an annual donation to the Zion Lutheran Church for their School Backpack Program and help stock the Food Box at the Depot.

Each year we award two scholarships to Liverpool township students attending Buckeye High School or Medina Career Center.

• The Barb & Rod Knight Citizenship Award to the individual who best represents an ideal Buckeye student. One who balances participation in school functions and activities; is active in community projects; exceeds reasonable expectations in assisting others and the community; and is academically proficient.
• The VCCG Trade School Citizenship Award to recognize and encourage that a trade school can provide life skills not always found elsewhere.  The VCCG has acknowledged that a specific trade may be the best path for some graduates upon high school graduation.

In the past we:

• added lighting and electricity at Mill Stream Park
• developed and implemented the Liverpool Township Commemorative Bench Program
• worked with the township to replace the old picnic tables in the pavilion
• invested in renovating the baseball fields on School Street.

In 2023 we:

• implemented a Beautification Program to clean up downtown
• Purchased a home run fence at the baseball field
• purchased portable pickleball nets so residence can play in the Community Center Gym
• helped fund the purchase and installation of new lighting in the Gym
• designed and purchased one of the four new Welcome to Valley City signs

We meet at 6:00 PM on the last Thursday of every month at the Community Center (6801 School St). All meetings are open to the public and we encourage you to attend to hear what’s going on or share your ideas. Watch Valleycity.org for meeting notifications.
