This year's Person of the Year Award is being presented to a very hard working resident of our community. She moved here in 1998 to a home mostly designed by her. She has operated her own window treatment business (A Room With A View Studio) installing and designing her products all over N. E. Ohio as well as being a Mary Kay consultant for more than ten years.
She became very involved in our community over the years and has gone above and beyond in her volunteer work this past year. She dedicated herself to the promotion of Valley City and has spent countless hours with the Chamber, Frog Jump Festival and recently in designing and obtaining commemorative post cards and stationary for next years Bicentennial Celebration in cooperation with the Historical Society. If you see publicity about a Chamber event she provided it, resulting in increased attendances and broader awareness of our community.
She is a member of Leadership Medina County and our representative to NOACC (N.E. Ohio Chambers of Commerce) where she recently received the Bright Star Award for 2008 which was presented to her in Cleveland.
She graduated from Kent State in 1988 and has been married to her husband Joe for 20 years. This year's Person of the Year is Linda Garrett.
