An unsuspecting Theresa Scherry calmly videos the President's Ball, not knowing she is soon to be presented with the Hats Off Award

Citation

Special recognition has been made yearly since 1985, the Hats Off Award. Recipients are individuals or couples who make positive contributions to the Valley City Community by voluntarily improving the quality of life. They generally work quietly, behind the scenes and their contributions often go unnoticed by others.

Theresa Scherry is this year's recipient. She has volunteered for many events at St Martin's Church such as the ham and chicken dinners. She has been active as a PTO mom helping out at Family Fun Nights and Field Days. She is currently serving on the Buckeye After Prom committee. You will see her at almost every Valley City event filming the Memorial Day, July 4th and Halloween Parades, the Street Fair, the Frog Jump Festival, and the Christmas Community Sing. Her job is as Liverpool Township Secretary and editor of the local government cable channel, Liverpool Cable Access, Armstrong channel 36. But she goes far above and beyond the call of duty by volunteering her own time filming events on evenings, holidays and special events. She was asked to film the President's Ball this year which is how these pictures were caught.
